Temporary Position: UK Border Agency Entry Clearance Assistant at the British Embassy

The UK Border Agency at the British Embassy in Hanoi is seeking applicants for a temporary 3-month position as UKBA Entry Clearance Assistant to start in early July 2010. The 3-month position will cover the busy period for accepting visa applications (particularly from students) over the summer period. The position will involve working in a small team to process and prepare applications, carry-out data entry, responding to customer enquiries, collating statistics based on trends and monitoring routine processes. The position will also involve working remotely but closely with the visa processing hub in Bangkok.
The starting monthly salary for the position is USD 619 gross increasing after two months to USD 656 gross dependant on performance. Full training will be provided.
Qualifications, experience and skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus
• Excellent organisational abilities
• Excellent attention to detail
• Flexible, resilient under pressure and decisive with a proven track record of delivering results to a high standard within tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as necessary
• Excellent written and spoken English and solid IT skills. Proficiency in the Vietnamese language would be highly desirable
Desirable:
• Previous experience in an Embassy or Government organisation
• Knowledge of the visa application process and the UK Immigration Rules
• Public relations experience
